समन्तपञ्चक-आख्यानम् तथा अक्षौहिणी-प्रमाणनिर्णयः
Samantapañcaka Narrative and the Measure of an Akṣauhiṇī
त॑ दुष्टभावं॑ विज्ञाय व्यासस्यागमन द्रुतम् । निर्याणप्रतिषेधश्व सुरभ्याख्यानमेव च,दुर्योधनके इस दूषित भावको जानकर महर्षि व्यास झटपट वहाँ आ पहुँचे और उन्होंने दुर्योधनकी यात्राका निषेध कर दिया। इसी प्रसंगमें सुरभिका आख्यान भी है
taṁ duṣṭabhāvaṁ vijñāya vyāsasyāgamanaṁ drutam | niryāṇa-pratiṣedhaś ca surabhy-ākhyānam eva ca ||
ဒုရျောဓန၏ မကောင်းသောစိတ်နှင့် အကျင့်ပျက်သောရည်ရွယ်ချက်ကို သိမြင်သဖြင့် မဟာရိရှီ ဗျာသသည် ထိုနေရာသို့ အလျင်အမြန် ရောက်လာ하였다။ ထို့နောက် ဒုရျောဓနအား ခရီးထွက်ရန် မပြုစေဘဲ တားမြစ်하였다။ ထိုအကြောင်းအရာနှင့် ဆက်စပ်၍ စုရဘီ၏ အာချာန (ဇာတ်ကြောင်း) ကိုလည်း ပြောကြားထားပြီး—ပညာရှိ၏ အကြံဉာဏ်သည် အန္တရာယ်ရှိသော ဆုံးဖြတ်ချက် မကောင်းမှုအဖြစ် မပေါက်ဖွားမီ တားဆီးရန် ကြိုးပမ်းကြောင်းကို ထင်ဟပ်စေသည်။
