समन्तपञ्चक-आख्यानम् तथा अक्षौहिणी-प्रमाणनिर्णयः

यज्ञे विभूतिं तां दृष्टवा दुःखामर्षान्वितस्य च | दुर्योधनस्यावहासो भीमेन च सभातले,यज्ञमें पाण्डवोंका यह वैभव देखकर दुर्योधन दुःख और ईरष्यासे मन-ही-मनमें जलने लगा। इसी प्रसंगमें सभाभवनके सामने समतल भूमिपर भीमसेनने उसका उपहास किया
yajñe vibhūtiṁ tāṁ dṛṣṭvā duḥkhāmarṣānvitasyaca | duryodhanasyāvahāso bhīmena ca sabhātale ||
«ယဇ్ఞ၌ ပाण्डဝတို့၏ ထွန်းတောက်သော စည်းစိမ်အာနုဘော်ကို မြင်သော် ဒုర్యೋಧနသည် ဝမ်းနည်းခြင်းနှင့် မနာလိုမုန်းတီးခြင်းတို့ဖြင့် အတွင်းစိတ်၌ လောင်ကျွမ်းသွားသည်။ ထိုအကြောင်းအရာအတွင်းပင် အစည်းအဝေးခန်းမရှေ့ မြေပြန့်ပေါ်တွင် ဘီမစೇနက သူ့ကို လှောင်ပြောင်ခဲ့သည်»။ ဤဖြစ်ရပ်သည် ရန်ငြိုးကို ပိုမိုနက်ရှိုင်းစေကာ မနာလိုမှုနှင့် ထိခိုက်သွားသော မာနကြောင့် တရားဓမ္မပျက်စီးမည့် အနာဂတ်ကို ကြိုတင်ညွှန်ပြသည်။
