दाश उवाच
The verse frames worthiness through guṇa (virtue/qualities) and āryatva (nobility of conduct), suggesting that moral and personal excellence can be emphasized alongside questions of birth and social standing in assessing a person’s legitimacy and suitability.
During the discussion about Satyavatī, Dāśa explains her parentage: she is the daughter of a noble man comparable in virtues to the interlocutors, and Satyavatī was born from that man’s seed—an assertion meant to establish her honorable origin in the context of negotiations.
