Lord Vishnu (speaking to Garuda)
Concept: Right preparation (saṃskāra) of substances determines efficacy; disciplined procedure yields restoration.
Vedantic Theme: Karma-yoga in the mundane: careful action without negligence
Application: Prepare specified formulations (garlic+rock salt with buttermilk/sour gruel; sesame-saktu bolus with curd and salt; neem-leaf bolus) for wound cleansing and ropana.
Primary Rasa: shanta
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 1.201.9 (śodhana for duṣṭa-vraṇa); Garuda Purana 1.201.11 (powder mixture)
This verse preserves practical healing guidance: specific ingredients (garlic, rock salt, buttermilk/sour gruel, sesame-saktu, curd, neem leaves) are recommended to cleanse wounds and support proper healing.
It does not discuss the soul’s journey here; instead, within the Garuda Purana’s broad scope, it presents dharmic, life-supporting knowledge—maintaining health and cleanliness as part of righteous living.
As a traditional reference, it highlights antimicrobial and cleansing substances (neem, salt, fermented liquids). For modern use, treat it as historical/ayurvedic guidance and consult qualified medical professionals for wound care.
