Prahlāda Instructs the Sons of Demons: Begin Bhakti from Childhood; Household Attachment as Bondage; Nārāyaṇa as the All-Pervading Supersoul

सुखमैन्द्रियकं दैत्या देहयोगेन देहिनाम् । सर्वत्र लभ्यते दैवाद्यथा दु:खमयत्नत: ॥ ३ ॥

sukham aindriyakaṁ daityā deha-yogena dehinām sarvatra labhyate daivād yathā duḥkham ayatnataḥ

အို ဒိုင်တျမျိုးရိုးမှ မွေးဖွားသော မိတ်ဆွေတို့၊ ကိုယ်ခန္ဓာနှင့် ထိတွေ့ခြင်းကြောင့် အင်ဒြိယအာရုံဆိုင်ရာ သုခသည် အတိတ်ကံအတိုင်း ဘဝအမျိုးမျိုး၌ ကံကြမ္မာအားဖြင့် ရရှိလာသည်။ ဒုက္ခလည်း အားထုတ်မှုမလိုဘဲ အလိုအလျောက် ရောက်လာသကဲ့သို့ပင်။

In the material world, in any form of life, there is some so-called happiness and so-called distress. No one invites distress in order to suffer, but still it comes. Similarly, even if we do not endeavor to obtain the advantages of material happiness, we shall obtain them automatically. This happiness and distress are obtainable in any form of life, without endeavor. Thus there is no need to waste time and energy fighting against distress or working very hard for happiness. Our only business in the human form of life should be to revive our relationship with the Supreme Personality of Godhead and thus become qualified to return home, back to Godhead. Material happiness and distress come as soon as we accept a material body, regardless of what form. We cannot avoid such happiness and distress under any circumstances. The best use of human life, therefore, lies in reviving our relationship with the Supreme Lord, Viṣṇu.

In this verse, Prahlāda explains that sensory happiness comes automatically by destiny simply because one has a body—just as distress also arrives without special effort—so one should not make it the goal of life.

Prahlāda was instructing his demoniac classmates that chasing sense pleasure is unnecessary and distracting, because it comes on its own; the real human effort should be directed toward spiritual realization and devotion.

Stop over-investing energy in endless comfort and entertainment; accept basic ups and downs as part of life, and intentionally use time for sādhana, service, and cultivating devotion.
