To increase the faith of Lord Brahmā’s sons and establish the prestige of His teachings, Lord Kṛṣṇa now formally identifies Himself as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Viṣṇu. As stated in Vedic literature, yajño vai viṣṇuḥ. After explaining the sāṅkhya- and aṣṭāṅga-yoga systems, the Lord clearly answers the original question of the sages, “Who are You, sir?” Thus, Lord Brahmā and his sons were enlightened by Lord Haṁsa.
This verse states that the Lord (as Hamsa) gives a confidential teaching on Sāṅkhya and Yoga, indicating these paths are to be understood through His revealed instruction and in relation to dharma.
He explains that His purpose is to clarify and speak their dharma—showing that true sacrifice (yajña) and right duty are ultimately grounded in divine instruction.
Seek “confidential” wisdom through authentic scripture and guidance, and align your duties—work, relationships, and spiritual practice—with a spirit of offering (yajña) and disciplined self-knowledge (Sāṅkhya-Yoga).
