अवध्योऽयं ममाप्येष वैरोचनिसुतोऽसुर: । प्रह्रादाय वरो दत्तो न वध्यो मे तवान्वय: ॥ ४७ ॥
avadhyo ’yaṁ mamāpy eṣa vairocani-suto ’suraḥ prahrādāya varo datto na vadhyo me tavānvayaḥ
ဝိုင်ရောချနီ၏ သား အသူရဤသူကို ငါ မသတ်မည်၊ အကြောင်းမှာ ပရာဟ္လာဒ မဟာရာဇာအား ‘သင်၏ မျိုးဆက်ကို ငါ မသတ်’ ဟူသော အရှင့်ကောင်းချီးကို ငါ ပေးခဲ့သောကြောင့် ဖြစ်သည်။
Śiva explains that Bāṇa is Prahlāda’s descendant, and Śiva had previously granted Prahlāda a boon that his lineage would not be slain by Śiva; thus he must honor that promise.
