Sage Parāśara (speaking to Maitreya)
Speaker: Parasara
Topic: Continuation of Manvantara-wise enumeration of designated rulers/sages (office-holders)
Teaching: Cosmological
Quality: systematic
Creation Stage: Manvantara
Vishnu Form: Narayana
It anchors cosmic history in a structured timeline, showing how dharma-bearing figures appear in each Manvantara under Vishnu’s overarching governance.
He proceeds by numbered cycles (11th, 13th, 14th), placing specific named figures in each, emphasizing orderly succession rather than isolated mythic episodes.
Even when Vishnu is not named in the verse, the Manvantara framework presupposes Vishnu as the Supreme Reality who sustains cyclical time, appointing and upholding cosmic administration.
