Kirātāvatāra, Durvāsā-upākhyāna, and the Logic of Divine Rescue
Kirātākhyam-avatāra; Pāṇḍava-prasaṅga
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
It highlights adhikāra (spiritual eligibility): Śiva-pūjā bears fruit when performed by one judged fit through discernment, discipline, and devotion—here, Arjuna is affirmed as qualified.
The verse frames Śiva-worship as a regulated, purposeful act directed to Saguna Śiva (often through the Liṅga), where the devotee’s readiness and right conduct are emphasized for attaining Śiva’s grace.
The direct takeaway is to approach Śiva-pūjā with proper preparation and guidance—maintaining purity, steadiness, and devotion; the text implies choosing a qualified practitioner rather than prescribing a specific item like bhasma or rudrākṣa in this line.
