उपमन्युकुमारस्य क्षीरार्थ-प्रार्थना तथा शिवप्रसाद-निबन्धनम् | Upamanyu’s Longing for Milk and the Doctrine of Shiva’s Grace
शिव उवाच । वत्सोपमन्यो तुष्टोऽस्मि त्वदाचरणतो वरात् । दृढभक्तोऽसि विप्रर्षे मया जिज्ञासितोऽधुना
śiva uvāca | vatsopamanyo tuṣṭo'smi tvadācaraṇato varāt | dṛḍhabhakto'si viprarṣe mayā jijñāsito'dhunā
Śiva bersabda: “Wahai anakku Upamanyu, Aku berkenan kepadamu kerana keluhuran tingkah lakumu. Wahai yang terbaik antara para brāhmaṇa, engkau teguh dalam bhakti; maka kini Aku telah mengujimu.”
