The Manifestation of Shiva as Dvijeśvara

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Sthala Purana: Not a Jyotirliṅga episode; the verse frames Śiva’s līlā as a moral-spiritual test culminating in grace.
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: teaching
It presents Shiva as Parameśvara who sustains dharma and, when the time is ripe, reveals grace through līlā—showing that divine action is purposeful, guiding beings toward order and liberation.
By highlighting Shiva’s līlā with Śivā, the verse emphasizes Saguna Shiva—worship of the Linga and divine forms as accessible manifestations through which the transcendent Lord stabilizes dharma and bestows anugraha (grace).
Contemplate Shiva as Parameśvara acting for dharma, and steady the mind with Panchākṣarī japa ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") as a devotional practice aligned with his līlā and grace.
