Vaiśyanātha-avatāra-kathā
The Account of Śiva’s Manifestation as Vaiśyanātha
ये मे भृत्याश्च दास्यश्च ये चान्ये मम बान्धवाः । सर्वे त्वद्दर्शनपरास्त्वयि सन्न्यस्तवृत्तयः
ye me bhṛtyāśca dāsyaśca ye cānye mama bāndhavāḥ | sarve tvaddarśanaparāstvayi sannyastavṛttayaḥ
“Para hamba lelaki dan hamba perempuanku, serta semua kaum kerabatku yang lain—semuanya hanya tertumpu untuk memandang-Mu; seluruh jalan hidup dan usaha batin mereka telah diserahkan kepada-Mu.”
A devotee addressing Lord Shiva (as narrated within the Shatarudrasaṃhitā discourse, traditionally relayed by Suta Goswami to the sages).
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Paśupatinātha
Significance: Darśana-bhakti culminating in śaraṇāgati (self-surrender) is presented as the direct means to Śiva’s saving grace (anugraha), uplifting not only the individual but the whole household/community oriented to Him.
Type: stotra
It praises ekāgratā (single-pointedness) and śaraṇāgati (surrender): even one’s household and social circle becomes sanctified when their minds and life-activities are offered to Shiva, the supreme Pati who grants liberation.
“Tvaddarśana” points to seeking Shiva’s tangible presence—classically fulfilled through Saguna worship such as Linga-darśana and pūjā—where the devotee trains the mind to rest in Shiva and offers all worldly roles back to Him.
Adopt a daily Shiva-darśana discipline: Linga-pūjā with pañcākṣarī japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), applying tripuṇḍra-bhasma and (if initiated) wearing rudrākṣa—while mentally placing all vṛttis and duties at Shiva’s feet.
