Manifestation of Śiva’s Saṃhāra-Form

The verse praises Shiva as both compassionate Lord (accessible to the distressed) and the highest metaphysical Reality (Sat–Cit–Ananda). It unites devotion (bhakti) with liberation (moksha): surrender to Shiva leads to the recognition of the Supreme Self.
By calling Shiva all-pervading, true, and Sat–Cit–Ananda, the verse points to Nirguna truth; by calling Him the friend of the lowly and ocean of compassion, it affirms Saguna grace. Linga worship holds both together: a tangible focus through which the formless, all-pervading Shiva is realized.
A practical takeaway is japa of the Panchakshara (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with contemplation on Shiva as Sat–Cit–Ananda, combined with heartfelt surrender to His compassion; this aligns devotion with inner realization.
