संहाररूप-प्रादुर्भावः
Manifestation of Śiva’s Saṃhāra-Form
नाम्नामष्टशतेनैव स्तुत्वा ताम्मृडमेव च । पुनश्च प्रार्थयामास नृसिंहः शरभेश्वरम्
nāmnāmaṣṭaśatenaiva stutvā tāmmṛḍameva ca | punaśca prārthayāmāsa nṛsiṃhaḥ śarabheśvaram
Sesudah memuji Mr̥ḍa itu—Śiva Yang Maha Pengasih—dengan lapan ratus nama, Narasiṁha sekali lagi merayu Śarabheśvara, Tuhan tertinggi yang mengambil rupa Śarabha.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Śarabheśvara
Mantra: (aṣṭaśata-nāma-stuti implied: ‘eight hundred names’ of Mr̥ḍa/Śiva)
Type: stotra
Offering: pushpa
The verse highlights nāma-stuti (praise through divine names) as a direct Shaiva path of bhakti and surrender, where even a mighty avatāra like Narasiṁha turns toward Śiva (Mr̥ḍa) as the gracious, supreme refuge.
By invoking Śiva through many names and a specific form (Śarabheśvara), the verse emphasizes Saguna upāsanā—approaching the formless Supreme through a compassionate, worshipable manifestation, which is the same devotional logic behind Linga-worship.
Chanting or reciting Śiva-nāma collections (such as aṣṭaśata-nāma) with prayerful repetition is implied; as a takeaway, perform nama-japa with mental surrender, ideally alongside Shaiva aids like vibhūti (tripuṇḍra) and the Panchākṣarī mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya).
