Invocation of Vīrabhadra/Bhairava for Cosmic Reabsorption

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Bhairava
Shakti Form: Durgā
Role: destructive
It portrays Shiva’s boundless sovereignty: even terrifying, lion-like and ecstatic forces move in harmony around Him, showing that all energies—fearsome or joyful—are integrated under Rudra and become auspicious when aligned with the Lord.
The verse emphasizes Saguna Shiva—Shiva with attributes—whose visible majesty includes hosts of powerful attendants. In Linga worship, devotees honor the same supreme Pati who manifests such forms while remaining transcendent beyond them.
A practical takeaway is dhyāna on Rudra’s all-pervading presence while chanting the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), cultivating fearless devotion; this can be paired with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrāksha as supportive Shaiva disciplines where customary.
