Brāhmaṇī-Svargati-Varṇana: Account of a Brāhmaṇa Woman’s Ascent to Heaven
हसता क्रियते कर्म रुदता परिभुज्यते । दुःखदाता न कोप्यस्ति सुखदाता न कश्चन
hasatā kriyate karma rudatā paribhujyate | duḥkhadātā na kopyasti sukhadātā na kaścana
Karma dilakukan walau ketika kita ketawa, dan buahnya pasti dialami walau ketika kita menangis. Tiada sesiapa pun yang benar-benar memberi duka, dan tiada sesiapa pun yang memberi bahagia—semuanya lahir daripada karma diri sendiri di bawah titah yang tidak pernah meleset daripada Mahādeva (Śiva).

It teaches karmic accountability: worldly joy and sorrow are not “given” by others but unfold from one’s own past actions, while Shiva remains the supreme regulator (Pati) whose order makes karma bear fruit—prompting detachment, repentance, and devotion.
By removing blame and resentment, the devotee turns inward and seeks refuge in Saguna Shiva as the compassionate Lord of the Linga, praying for purification of karma and steadiness of mind during Jyotirlinga worship and pilgrimage.
Practice japa of the Panchakshara mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrāksha, offering the day’s actions to Shiva and accepting results as prārabdha—reducing agitation and strengthening vairāgya.
