Śivapūjā-stuti: Deva-Ṛṣi-Paramparāyāṃ Śaṃkara-caritasya Prastāvaḥ

सूर्यचन्द्रावुभौ देवौ पृथ्व्यां वंशप्रवर्त्तकौ । शिवसेवारतौ नित्यं सवंश्यौ तौ मुनीश्वर
sūryacandrāvubhau devau pṛthvyāṃ vaṃśapravarttakau | śivasevāratau nityaṃ savaṃśyau tau munīśvara
Wahai tuan para resi, kedua-dua dewa Surya dan Chandra menjadi pengasas salasilah raja-raja di bumi; sentiasa tekun berkhidmat kepada Dewa Śiva, mereka—bersama keturunan mereka—tetap teguh dalam bhakti yang berpusat pada Śiva.
