Śiva-nāma-smaraṇa and Śambhu’s Protective Manifestation
Dāruka Episode
रक्षयिष्यामि ते वंशं सत्यं च कथ्यते मया । इत्युक्त्वा च शिवेनैव विग्रहं सा चकार ह
rakṣayiṣyāmi te vaṃśaṃ satyaṃ ca kathyate mayā | ityuktvā ca śivenaiva vigrahaṃ sā cakāra ha
“Aku akan melindungi keturunanmu—itulah kebenaran yang kuucapkan.” Setelah berkata demikian, makhluk itu, oleh kehendak Śiva sendiri, lalu mengambil rupa yang nyata.
