एतेषां दर्शनादन्ये पापिष्ठाः संभवंतु च । कृतघ्नाश्च तथा जाता नैतेषां निष्कृतिः क्वचित्
eteṣāṃ darśanādanye pāpiṣṭhāḥ saṃbhavaṃtu ca | kṛtaghnāśca tathā jātā naiteṣāṃ niṣkṛtiḥ kvacit
Dengan hanya melihat orang seperti itu, orang lain pun boleh menjadi lebih berdosa; dan mereka sendiri menjadi orang yang tidak tahu berterima kasih. Bagi mereka, tiada penebusan dosa pada bila-bila masa.

The verse warns that association (even mere sight, i.e., saṅga) with intensely adharmic, thankless conduct can spread pāpa, and that persistent kṛtaghnatā blocks true purification—because Shaiva liberation requires inner transformation and gratitude toward Pati (Shiva) and the guru.
Kotirudra Saṃhitā emphasizes Jyotirliṅga pilgrimage and darśana; this verse cautions that sacred darśana bears fruit only with dharmic disposition. Without reverence and moral restraint, outward Liṅga-darśana does not mature into Shiva’s anugraha (grace).
The takeaway is to purify saṅga and cultivate gratitude and repentance alongside Shiva-upāsanā—regular japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), wearing vibhūti (Tripuṇḍra) with humility, and avoiding harmful company before undertaking Jyotirliṅga darśana.
