गौतमस्य शिवदर्शनं पापक्षयवचनं च | Gautama’s Vision of Śiva and the Teaching on Sin and Purification

त्वदीयदर्शनाल्लोका निष्पापाश्च भवंति हि । किं पुनस्त्वं सपापोऽसि मद्भक्तिनिरतस्सदा

tvadīyadarśanāllokā niṣpāpāśca bhavaṃti hi | kiṃ punastvaṃ sapāpo'si madbhaktiniratassadā

Dengan sekadar memandangmu, manusia menjadi bebas daripada dosa, sesungguhnya. Maka bagaimana mungkin engkau sendiri berdosa—sedangkan engkau sentiasa tekun dalam bhakti kepada-Ku, Śiva?

The verse teaches that Shiva-bhakti and Shiva’s grace purify pāpa: one who is steadfast in devotion becomes a vessel of sanctity, so even their darśana uplifts and cleanses others.

It supports Saguna worship through darśana—seeing Shiva (especially as the Jyotirlinga) is not merely symbolic but grace-bearing, and devotion to that manifested form removes impurity and strengthens liberation-oriented faith.
