Suta Goswami (narrating Shiva’s prescribed ritual method as taught in the Kailasa Samhita)
Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Mantra: Oṃ (praṇava) — explicitly prescribed for sevenfold abhimantraṇa here.
Type: gayatri
Role: teaching
It teaches that worship is not merely external: the offering is ‘made living’ through mantra and disciplined order (ṣaḍaṅga), aligning the devotee’s body-mind with Pati (Shiva) so the act becomes a purifier leading toward grace (anugraha).
In Linga/Saguna worship, substances used in pūjā are ritually sanctified; repeating Oṁ seven times indicates deliberate consecration so the offering becomes fit to approach Shiva’s manifest presence in the Linga as a vehicle for devotion and surrender.
Follow the ṣaḍaṅga sequence (a six-part nyāsa/mantra-limb order as taught) and then perform abhimantreṇa—recite the Pranava (Oṁ) seven times over the prepared offering or vessel to spiritually charge it before use in pūjā.
