Vali’s Final Counsel and the Succession Charge
अनुरूपाणि कर्माणि विक्रम्य बलवान्रणे।करिष्यत्येष तारेयस्तरस्वी तरुणोऽङ्गदः।।
anurūpāṇi karmāṇi vikramya balavān raṇe | kariṣyaty eṣa tāreyaḥ tarasvī taruṇo ’ṅgadaḥ ||
Angada yang muda, putera Tārā, kuat lagi pantas—akan mara dalam pertempuran dengan gagah, dan melaksanakan perbuatan yang sesuai dengan keadaan.
'This mighty hero Angada, son of Tara, is young and dynamic. He will strike (the enemy) in a fitting manner in war.
Right action appropriate to context (yathā-yogya karma): dharma in war includes competent, proportionate, and fitting conduct.
Vāli reinforces Sugrīva’s confidence that Angada will mature into a capable warrior and actor in the coming campaign.
