Sita’s Rebuke of Ravana; Removal to the Ashoka Grove
Sita, daughter of Janaka, immersed in deep grief knew no peace just like a doe caught in a snare.
Dharma recognizes the real harm of unjust restraint—peace (śarma) is impossible where freedom and safety are violated; the verse implicitly condemns coercive captivity.
Sītā’s emotional state after abduction is described: she is overwhelmed and cannot find solace, as if trapped.
Her steadfast fidelity (satya and niṣṭhā) persists even when her mind is tormented; she does not turn toward adharma for relief.
