दूषणवधः
The Slaying of Dūṣaṇa and the Rout of Khara’s Host
स्थूलाक्षस्याक्षिणी तीक्ष्णैः पूरयामास सायकैः।दूषणस्यानुगान्पञ्चसहस्रान्कुपितः क्षणात्।।।।बाणौघैः पञ्चसाहस्रैरनयद्यमसादनम्।
sthūlākṣasyākṣiṇī tīkṣṇaiḥ pūrayāmāsa sāyakaiḥ |
dūṣaṇasyānugān pañca-sahasrān kupitaḥ kṣaṇāt ||
bāṇaughaiḥ pañca-sāhasrair anayat yama-sādanam ||
Baginda memenuhi kedua-dua mata Sthūlākṣa dengan anak panah yang tajam; lalu seketika, dalam murka yang berlandaskan dharma, baginda menghujani lima ribu pengikut Dūṣaṇa dengan panah-panah, menghantar mereka ke kediaman Yama.
Seeing Dusana and his followers killed, enraged Khara commanded his extremely strong army chiefs this way:
Dharma is protective justice: force is used decisively to end ongoing violent threat, not for cruelty, restoring safety in the forest.
Rāma continues the battle, disables Sthūlākṣa, and annihilates Dūṣaṇa’s large contingent swiftly with arrow volleys.
Martial competence joined with purposeful resolve—swift action to prevent further harm.
