Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A devotee moves through four days of observance depicted as a single continuous frieze: on pañcamī taking one simple meal, on ṣaṣṭhī eating only at night, on saptamī sitting in fasting meditation before a small solar altar, and on aṣṭamī performing pāraṇa with a calm, grateful expression. Each panel shows increasing simplicity—fewer vessels, quieter posture, and a clearer inner radiance.","primary_figures":["a vrata-observer","optional: Sūrya as a subtle halo above the altar"],"setting":"Home shrine space transitioning to a quiet courtyard; minimal utensils; a copper pot and lamp remain constant as anchors.","lighting_mood":"temple lamp-lit","color_palette":["warm amber","copper","off-white","deep red","smoky gray"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: four-panel narrative with gold leaf accents; devotee in each panel with progressively simpler food offerings; ornate solar emblem above; rich reds and greens, embossed gold rays, traditional jewelry and textiles.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: lyrical sequential scenes with delicate brushwork; soft interior lamplight, then open courtyard; muted earth tones with gentle highlights; refined facial expressions showing growing serenity.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold outlined sequential vignettes; stylized lamp, altar, and food vessels; strong red/yellow/green palette; devotional austerity with iconic clarity.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: circular border of lotus motifs enclosing four small scenes; deep blue background with gold floral filigree; peacocks at corners; solar maṇḍala motif repeated."}

Sandhi Resolution Notes: paṃcamyām-ekabhaktam = paṃcamyām + ekabhaktam; saptamyām-upavāsam = saptamyām + upavāsam.

FAQs

It outlines a four-day vrata pattern: one meal on Pañcamī, night-meal on Ṣaṣṭhī, full fast on Saptamī, and proper breaking of the fast (pāraṇa) on Aṣṭamī.

‘Nakta’ refers to eating only at night—typically a single restrained meal after daytime observances.

Pāraṇa is the formal completion of the fast; mentioning it emphasizes that a vrata is not ended merely by eating, but by breaking the fast at the prescribed time and manner.
