गंगा तारयते नॄणामुभौ वंशौ भवार्णवात् । संक्रांतिषु व्यतीपाते ग्रहणे चंद्रसूर्ययोः

gaṃgā tārayate nṝṇāmubhau vaṃśau bhavārṇavāt | saṃkrāṃtiṣu vyatīpāte grahaṇe caṃdrasūryayoḥ

Sungai Gaṅgā menyelamatkan manusia—beserta kedua-dua jalur keturunannya—daripada samudera bhava (kewujudan duniawi), khususnya pada saṅkrānti, vyatīpāta, serta ketika gerhana Bulan dan Matahari.
