Umā’s Austerity, Kauśikī’s Manifestation, and Skanda’s Birth Leading to Tāraka’s Defeat

शर्व उवाच । अगात्मजासि गिरिजे नाहं निंदापरस्तव । चाटूक्तिबुध्या तु मया कृत उन्मादसंश्रयः

śarva uvāca | agātmajāsi girije nāhaṃ niṃdāparastava | cāṭūktibudhyā tu mayā kṛta unmādasaṃśrayaḥ

Śarva bersabda: Wahai Girijā, engkau puteri Gunung; aku bukanlah pencela dirimu. Namun aku menyangkanya sekadar pujian bersenda, lalu aku berkata hingga seakan memberi tempat berlindung kepada kegilaan.
