अगस्त्य उवाच । शृणु राम पुरावृत्तं पुरा त्रेतायुगे महत् । द्वापरे समनुप्राप्ते वने यद्दृष्टवानहम्

Agastya berkata: “Dengarlah, wahai Rāma, suatu kisah purba yang agung—apa yang aku sendiri saksikan di rimba ketika zaman Dvāpara telah tiba, meskipun ceritanya berkaitan dengan Tretā Yuga yang lebih awal.”
