FAQs

It links devotional service—especially offering food and worship—to divine grace, stating that Viṣṇu (with Lakṣmī) grants boons and that Śiva (with Umā) is certainly satisfied by being fed on the prescribed “third” occasion.

“Lakṣmīsahāya” refers to Viṣṇu as the consort of Lakṣmī, and “Umāsahāya” refers to Śiva as the consort of Umā (Pārvatī).

The verse implies the merit of hospitality and ritual feeding (anna-dāna/naivedya), portraying it as an effective act of devotion that yields divine favor and blessings.
