Narrator (contextual creation account; specific dialogue-speaker not explicit in this single verse)

Concept: Nāma-rūpa and ritual functions are first articulated through Vedic śabda; creation is ‘spoken’ into ordered intelligibility.

Application: Treat mantra, truthful speech, and scriptural study as creative forces shaping mind and conduct; keep a daily recitation (even a short Viṣṇu-nāma) to refine nāma-rūpa within.

FAQs

Creation is described as arising from Veda-śabda (Vedic sound/word): names, forms, and the ordering of functions/rites are manifested through the Veda’s primordial verbal principle.

It states that beings receive nāma (name) and rūpa (form) as part of the initial manifestation, implying that worldly differentiation is structured through naming and form-giving.

Indirectly, yes: it elevates Vedic speech and prescribed action (kṛtya) as foundational to cosmic order, suggesting that right conduct and ritual duty align human life with that order.
