Concept: Ritual order and right appointment (ṛtvik, ācārya, maṇḍapa) sanctify civic works; dharma is enacted through careful procedure.

Application: When undertaking community projects, prioritize integrity, qualified guidance, and completion according to best practice—make ‘procedure’ a form of reverence.

FAQs

It describes completing a taṭāka-vidhi (a prescribed rite connected with a tank/reservoir) and then arranging the ritual infrastructure—priests (ṛtviks), the pavilion (maṇḍapa), and an officiating ācārya—according to proper procedure.

The verse highlights that dharmic rites are not only about an act (like building or consecrating) but also about correct liturgical setup: qualified priests, proper space, required materials, and a competent preceptor to oversee correctness.

It implies that sacred works should be carried out with discipline and adherence to dharma—careful completion, proper preparation, and reliance on learned guidance—rather than improvisation or negligence.
