FAQs

“Saptarṣi” refers to the primordial group of seven great seers prominent in Purāṇic cosmology; the verse alludes to their chief consorts as part of a broader listing of beings/lineages.

Vidyādharīs are celestial female beings associated with “vidyā” (supernatural knowledge/power) and the Vidyādhara hosts; here they are mentioned as a distinct group alongside human/ṛṣi familial relations.

It functions as a classificatory/genealogical enumeration—grouping revered consorts of sages and other female categories (sisters, daughters, celestial hosts) as part of the creation-era catalog of beings.
