बृहस्पतिस्तद्विरहाग्निदग्धस्तद्ध्याननिष्ठैकमना बभूव । शशाक शापं न च दातुमस्मै न मंत्रशस्त्राग्निविषैरनेकैः

bṛhaspatistadvirahāgnidagdhastaddhyānaniṣṭhaikamanā babhūva | śaśāka śāpaṃ na ca dātumasmai na maṃtraśastrāgniviṣairanekaiḥ

Bṛhaspati, hangus oleh api perpisahan daripadanya, menjadi sejiwa—teguh hanya dalam semadi mengingatinya. Namun beliau tidak mampu menjatuhkan sumpahan kepadanya, walau dengan pelbagai cara: mantra, senjata, api, ataupun racun yang banyak.
