The Greatness of the Ancestors: Ekoddiṣṭa Śrāddha, Āśauca Rules, and Sapiṇḍīkaraṇa

पुत्रार्थी देवदेवेशं पद्मयोनिं पितामहम् । आराधयामास विभुं तीव्रव्रतपरायणः

putrārthī devadeveśaṃ padmayoniṃ pitāmaham | ārādhayāmāsa vibhuṃ tīvravrataparāyaṇaḥ

Dengan hasrat memperoleh seorang putera, dia memuja Tuhan segala dewa—Pitāmaha Brahmā yang lahir dari teratai—Yang Maha Berkuasa, dengan teguh berpegang pada vrata dan tapa yang amat berat.
