सूत उवाच । अथैकदा धराधारं पृष्टवान्भुजगेश्वरम् । वात्स्यायनो मुनिवरः कथामेतां सुनिर्मलाम्

sūta uvāca | athaikadā dharādhāraṃ pṛṣṭavānbhujageśvaram | vātsyāyano munivaraḥ kathāmetāṃ sunirmalām

Sūta berkata: Pada suatu ketika, muni utama Vātsyāyana telah bertanya kepada Bhujageśvara, Penguasa Ular yang menyangga bumi, tentang kisah suci ini yang amat murni.
