शौनक उवाच । सुकृतं किं तथा प्राह कृत्वा संसारसागरात् । तरिष्यंति कलौ सूत तमोन्धकूपमंडुकाः

śaunaka uvāca | sukṛtaṃ kiṃ tathā prāha kṛtvā saṃsārasāgarāt | tariṣyaṃti kalau sūta tamondhakūpamaṃḍukāḥ

Śaunaka berkata: “Wahai Sūta, apakah amalan kebajikan yang telah dia nyatakan—yang apabila dilakukan, pada zaman Kali, manusia seperti ‘katak dalam perigi gelap’ yang tenggelam dalam kejahilan akan menyeberangi lautan saṃsāra?”
