Sandhi Resolution Notes: tairveṣṭitā → taiḥ veṣṭitā; viṣṇordivasamāhātmyaṃ → viṣṇoḥ divasa-māhātmyam; dvijarṣabha → dvija-ṛṣabha.
It refers to a specially sanctified day dedicated to Viṣṇu—typically observed through vrata, worship, and recitation—whose spiritual merit is praised as a “māhātmya.”
Purāṇic language often emphasizes that true knowledge of a sacred observance and its inner merit is uncommon—even among devas—highlighting its exceptional sanctity and transformative power.
It underscores reverence for sacred time and disciplined devotion: honoring Viṣṇu through a holy observance is presented as an auspicious path that is both precious and difficult to attain.
