Mohinī-ākhyāna: The Trial of Ekādaśī and the King’s Satya-saṅkalpa
Narada (instructional discourse within Uttara-Bhaga narrative)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: raudra
It distinguishes authentic Vaiṣṇava (Sāttvata) dharma from “vimārga” (misdirected) interpretations, warning that certain recitations or views attributed to pious groups should not be mistaken for the Lord’s devotional doctrine.
By asserting “this is never the doctrine of the Sāttvatas,” the verse frames bhakti as guided by right teaching and right conduct, not by heterodox or misguided opinions that deviate from Vaiṣṇava siddhānta.
It implicitly stresses Śāstra-pramāṇa (scriptural authority) and correct pāṭha/recitation (linked with Śikṣā and Vyākaraṇa in practice): dharmic conclusions should follow authentic tradition, not corrupted readings or sectarian misinterpretations.
