Rukmāṅgada–Vāmadeva Saṃvāda: Ahimsa, Hunting, and the Fruit of Dvādaśī-Bhakti

जनमध्ये सुतो मेऽस्तु काननेऽहं वरानने । श्वापदेभ्यश्च दस्युभ्यः प्रजा रक्ष्या महीभृता ॥ १५ ॥

janamadhye suto me'stu kānane'haṃ varānane | śvāpadebhyaśca dasyubhyaḥ prajā rakṣyā mahībhṛtā || 15 ||

“Wahai yang berwajah elok, semoga aku dikurniai seorang putera di tengah rakyat, dan semoga aku tinggal di rimba. Dan rakyat wajib dilindungi oleh raja—daripada binatang buas dan juga daripada perompak.”
