Adhyaya 49Primordial Human Creation, the Rise of Desire, and the Origins of Settlements, Measures, and Agriculture

ब्रह्मा स्वयम्भूर्भगवान् हस्तसिद्धिं च कर्मजाम् ।

ततः प्रभृत्यथौषध्यः कृष्टपच्यास्तु जज्ञिरे ॥

brahmā svayambhūr bhagavān hastasiddhiṃ ca karmajām | tataḥ prabhṛty athauṣadhyaḥ kṛṣṭapacyās tu jajñire ||

Brahmā Yang Terberkati, Sang Swayambhū (Tercipta Sendiri), menzahirkan kemahiran tangan dan pencapaian yang lahir daripada kerja. Sejak saat itu, tumbuhan menjadi sesuatu yang dibajak untuk ditanam dan dimasak sebagai makanan.
