Adhyaya 45 — Jaimini’s Cosmological Questions and the Opening of Markandeya’s Account of Primary Creation

Discernment (viveka) is implied: the eternal Prakṛti is the field of coverings, while the Puruṣa is the inner witness; confusion between them is the root of bondage.
Sarga with philosophical framing: it explains the principles underlying creation (tattva-śāstra within cosmogenesis).
‘Mutual covering’ points to layered ignorance (āvaraṇa) in the individual as well—prakṛti’s strata conceal puruṣa until insight reverses the covering.
