Adhyaya 38 — Dattatreya on Non-Identification (Mamata) and the Path to Liberation
किंत्वत्र विषयाक्रान्ते स्थैर्यवत्त्वं न चेतसि ।
न चापि वेद्मि मुच्येयं कथं प्रकृतिबन्धनात् ॥
kintvatra viṣayākrānte sthairyavattvaṃ na cetasi |
na cāpi vedmi mucyeyaṃ kathaṃ prakṛtibandhanāt ||
Namun di sini, apabila fikiranku dikuasai oleh objek-objek indera, tiadalah keteguhan padanya; dan aku juga tidak mengetahui bagaimana aku dapat dibebaskan daripada belenggu Prakṛti.

Intellectual discrimination alone may not stabilize the mind; sustained practice is needed to overcome sense-driven turbulence and guṇa-conditioning.
