Identification of the Pāṇḍavas in Virāṭa’s Court
The verse highlights the battlefield ethic of kṣatriya-dharma: even after being stunned and recovering, warriors must reassess the situation and respond decisively. It also underscores how true prowess (Arjuna standing firm and free) compels immediate strategic reaction from opponents.
After a setback that left them senseless, the Kaurava heroes recover and notice Arjuna standing alone, having broken out from the surrounding chariots. Duryodhana, seeing this, immediately begins to speak—introducing the next command or challenge in the battle episode.
