Arjuna–Duryodhana Engagement and Admonition
yat sabhāyāṃ sa pāñcālīṃ kliśyamānāṃ durātmabhiḥ | dṛṣṭavān asi tasyādya phalam āpnuhi kevalam, are! |
The verse stresses moral causality: witnessing or enabling injustice—especially public humiliation and abuse—incurs accountability, and the wrongdoer (or complicit onlooker) must face the consequences (phala) of that adharma.
Arjuna addresses an enemy, recalling the Kauravas’ cruelty toward Draupadī in the assembly. He declares that the time for repayment has arrived and commands the opponent to endure the full consequence of that earlier outrage.
