Virāṭa-parva Adhyāya 23: Report of the Slain Sūtaputras, Royal Orders, and Sairandhrī’s Return

उवाच च महाबाहु: पाज्चालीं तत्र द्रौपदीम्‌ । अश्रुपूर्णमुखी दीनां दुर्धर्ष: स वृकोदर:,उस समय पांचालराजकुमारी द्रौपदी बड़ी दीन एवं दयनीय हो गयी थी। उसके मुखपर आँसुओंकी धारा बह रही थी। दुर्धर्ष वीर महाबाहु वृकोदरने उसे धीरज बँधाते हुए कहा --

vaiśampāyana uvāca | uvāca ca mahābāhuḥ pāñcālīṃ tatra draupadīm | aśrupūrṇamukhīṃ dīnāṃ durdharṣaḥ sa vṛkodaraḥ ||

Vaiśampāyana berkata: Di sana, Bhīma yang berlengan perkasa—sukar ditandingi—berkata kepada Draupadī, puteri Pāñcālī, yang berdiri dalam dukacita dan kehinaan, wajahnya dibasahi air mata. Untuk meneguhkan hatinya, baginda pun mula menenangkannya.
