ततस्तु तां समारोप्य निबध्य च सुमध्यमाम् | जम्मुरुद्यम्य ते सर्वे श्मशानाभिमुखास्तदा,फिर उन्होंने सुन्दर कटिभागवाली उस देवीको टिकटीपर चढ़ाकर लाशके साथ ही बाँध दिया। इसके बाद वे सब लोग मृतकको उठाकर श्मशानभूमिकी ओर ले चले
tatastu tāṃ samāropya nibadhya ca sumadhyamām | jambum udyamya te sarve śmaśānābhimukhās tadā ||
Vaiśampāyana berkata: Kemudian mereka mengangkat wanita yang berpinggang ramping itu ke atas usungan jenazah dan mengikatnya di situ bersama mayat. Sesudah itu, mereka semua mengangkat tubuh si mati lalu bergerak menuju ke tanah pembakaran mayat.
