Virāṭa-parva Adhyāya 22 — Draupadī’s Abduction Attempt and Bhīma’s Suppression of the Kīcakas
भीमसेन उवाच स्वागतं ते वरारोहे यन्मां वेदयसे प्रियम् । न हान्यं कज्चिदिच्छामि सहायं वरवर्णिनि
bhīmasena uvāca svāgataṃ te varārohe yan māṃ vedayase priyam | na hi anyaṃ kaścid icchāmi sahāyaṃ varavarṇini ||
Bhīmasena berkata: “Selamat datang, wahai wanita mulia yang anggun. Aku berbesar hati kerana engkau memperkenalkan dirimu kepadaku. Sesungguhnya, aku tidak menginginkan pembantu yang lain—wahai yang berwajah jelita.”
भीमसेन उवाच
The verse highlights courteous speech and discerning trust: when sincere support is offered in a difficult context, one should acknowledge it respectfully and commit to reliable alliance rather than seeking scattered help.
Bhīma addresses a noble woman who has approached and identified herself, expressing welcome and satisfaction at her disclosure, and stating that he seeks no other assistant besides her.
