Adhyāya 14: Sudēṣṇā Sends Sairandhrī to Kīcaka’s House (सुदेष्णा–सैरन्ध्री–कीचक संवादः)

एवमुक्ता तु सा साध्वी कीचकेनाशुभं वच: । कीचकं प्रत्युवाचेदं गर्हयन्त्यस्य तद्‌ वच:,कीचकके इस प्रकार अशुभ (पापपूर्ण) वचन कहनेपर सती-साध्वी द्रौपदीने उसकी उन ओछी बातोंकी निन्‍्दा करते हुए इस प्रकार उत्तर दिया

evamuktā tu sā sādhvī kīcakena aśubhaṃ vacaḥ | kīcakaṃ pratyuvācedaṃ garhayanty asya tad vacaḥ ||

Apabila Kīcaka menuturkan kata-kata yang berdosa demikian, wanita yang luhur itu (Draupadī) mengecam ucapannya dan menjawab, mengutuk kehinaan apa yang telah dikatakannya.
