Damayantī’s Distress, Proclamation of the Svayaṃvara, and the Gods’ Request
The verse highlights that moral outrage grounded in dharma is not merely emotional; it becomes an ethical force that calls adharma to account. Draupadī’s krodha is presented as righteous indignation whose consequence is the inevitable downfall of wrongdoing.
Yudhiṣṭhira addresses Draupadī in Kṛṣṇa’s presence, affirming that Duryodhana will meet death as a consequence of the wrongs done and the righteous anger they have provoked—foreshadowing the later destruction of the Kaurava leader.
