यदा च कर्णों राजेन्द्र भानुमन्तं दिवाकरम् | स्तौति मध्यन्दिने प्राप्ते प्राजजलि: सलिले स्थित:
yadā ca karṇo rājendra bhānumantaṃ divākaram | stauti madhyandine prāpte prāñjaliḥ salile sthitaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana berkata: “Dan apabila Karṇa, wahai raja, tatkala tibanya tengah hari, berdiri di dalam air dengan tangan dirapatkan penuh takzim lalu memuji Surya yang cemerlang—pencipta siang—maka itulah ibadat hariannya dan disiplin dirinya, menghormati sumber cahaya dan tertib.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
